Nayland Sanatorium postcards.

Nayland Sanatorium postcards from Maltings Farm sanatorium, Nayland, c.1910. Only one was  posted and that was postmarked in Nayland in 1913. There are 13 cards and they’re all in very good condition. I tell myself that they’ve been in a drawer for 110 years.
These postcards don’t fall into the category of: “Real Photograph” cards but they’re very clear.
I have some more postcards of Nayland listed on this site: Postcards of Nayland, c.1910. They came from the same collection.

I used to drive through this village when I lived in Lavenham. It’s near Haverhill and I knew it as Stoke by Nayland.

http://naylandconservation.org.uk tells you about the sanatorium. By my understanding of this article, the whole place was knocked down in the 1960s and 4 houses were built on the site. It’s no wonder that I didn’t recognise it or know where it was. Originally, it was a women’s hospital, specialising in tuberculosis and it makes me wonder about the person who bought the postcards. Were they a patient or a visitor?
I imagine that Nayland Sanatorium postcards are unusual, especially 13 of them!
I don’t think I have any more postcards of the immediate area but, if I do, I’ll list them on this site. As I keep saying: I have a lot of postcards.
