Crystal Palace souvenir.

Crystal Palace souvenir. I’ve had several of these fold-out souvenirs over the years but I don’t think I’ve had one from the Crystal Palace before. They always have a chromo-litho printed rose for the front and back covers and are cut to that shape. They’re always the same: they have a pink rose with leaves as a cover and have steel engraved black and white vignettes inside. The Great Exhibition was in 1851 and I think this souvenir is 10-20 years later. The Crystal Palace remained a very popular place and they sold souvenirs all through the second half of the 19th. century and into the 20th.
It could be in better condition: in fact it’s now in 2 pieces but it’s all there. I know I should be more worried about the condition but it is fairly unusual. Novelty calendar. 1878. In the form of a fan. is the nearest I have listed at the moment but I look for these fold-out souvenirs and souvenirs of events and places that I find interesting.
