This is my cabinet for Newark Showground antique fair. It’s on Thursday, the 9th. of October.
I’ve been attending this fair, on and off, for decades but I still enjoy it.
Now that I’m semi-retired I have time to think carefully about what I take but when I had the shop I tended to take the nearest things because I didn’t have time to think about it. Consequently, I do rather well these days, although I mustn’t be complacent.
The customers are relatively thin on the ground compared with 20-30 years ago but those who turn up want to buy and most of them have an enthusiasm which is infectious.
Well, Newark wasn’t a bad fair. I could always have taken more and several things were totally ignored. I sold a lot of things out of my cabinet but there’s still a lot left for my next fair, which is at Easton (near Norwich) on Sunday, the 26th. of October.
